CAMI Joins this Year`s Shoreline Cleanup

CAMI, in collaboration with the Grosse-Ile School CLC (Community Learning Center), participated in this year`s Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup on September 22. Thirty two (32) students and community members joined in the effort to clean the garbage on Grosse-Ile North Beach. Ten bags of garbage, mostly comprising of plastics, were collected and sent to the waste processing plant.

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup takes place across the country every year in September. The participants fill out data cards while cleaning, which are sent to the Vancouver Aquarium for scientific research concerning ocean and waterway litter.
